Project Lifesaver is a rapid response program aiding victims and families of victims suffering from Alzheimer’s and related disorders such as Down’s Syndrome and Autism.
Persons who are part of Project Lifesaver wear a personalized radio transmitter tracking bracelet that emits a signal once every second. When a client in the program is reported missing, a search and rescue team responds to the area with a mobile locator tracking system. Recovery times average less than thirty minutes.
Somerset Police Officers are trained in the use of the Project Lifesaver equipment.
Please email or call Interim Police Chief Todd Costa at 508-679-2138 for more information or visit the Somerset Council on Aging.
Project Lifesaver is part of the Somerset TRIAD, a three way agreement of Somerset Public Safety, the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office and Senior Community. Its primary mission is to work together by creating programs beneficial to enhancing the quality of life and safety of Somerset’s senior residents.
